Thank you to Peter Smith for providing the top three images from postcards in his collection and to Barbara Fuller, co-author of Bygone Uckfield, who provided the fourth picture showing a more distant view of Uckfield House. 

Top is Uckfield House, which was demolished to make way for the Manor Park housing estate. Lime Tree Avenue was the carriageway leading to the house.

Middle is a photograph of horses and carriage believed to belong to a funeral procession in 1909 which started at Uckfield House. It is not known whose funeral it was.
